Over The Mountain Boykins
Home of OTM's JustAHomeWrecker
We would like to congratulate John and Wrecker, more fondly known as "W"
on their 1st place in the puppy division at the 2005 Boykin Spaniel Hunt Test
held in South Carolina.  We first met John, Kelly, Mary Myer, Stuart and
their two wonderful Boykin Spaniels-Wrecker and Heidi, at a Midsouth
Boykin Spaniel Retriever Club training event in Alabama.  We all quickly hit
it off, dogs and all.
John and Clay both share not only their passion for
the breed, but for hunting and hunt tests as well.  Constantly emailing
each other with tidbits and training tips the friendship has grown.  John
was unable to join us on a duck hunt in the famed Mississippi Delta in 2004.
John has already committed to come hunting during the 2005 duck season.
With Millie and Wrecker picking up every bird they down, there should be
some lab guys sitting up and taking notice of what these lil brown dogs can
do.  For more information on Over the Mountain Boykins, visit their website:

Rockn' Creek Kennels
What can you say about Rockn' Creek Kennels.  No two people have worked harder behind the scenes that Jim and Millie Latimer.    Jim is the  current  chairman of the board for
The Boykin Spaniel Society.  Millie, is a trainer and breeder of some of the finest Boykin Spaniels around on their place in St. Matthews, SC.  She has produced Boykin Spaniels with some of the most
natural abilities of any Boykins around.  To own a Rockn' Creek Boykin, is to truely say you have something.   She recently told me about one of her favorite Boykins she has ever owned.  At the young age of 13 weeks she took this young pup hunting and he retrieved 15 birds that day.  An absolutely amazing feet for such a young dog.  She has had dogs 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in
different classes at almost every Boykin Spaniel Society Hunt Test or Upland Event.

Brandywine Creek Boykins
Brandywine Creek Boykins, owned and operated by Phil and Karen Hinchman.  These guys are serious about their upland hunting.  So much so that they are regulars on many of the tournament hunting circuits throughout the Midwest.  They can be found running their Boykins in the National Bird Dog Challenge Events, Wisconsin Championship Hunting Series, as well as the THCC Majors and Super Majors.  Along with the tournaments they have recently gotten involved with the HRC/UKC Hunt Tests.  As Phil says, he enjoys that very much, but it is a much slower pace than the Shoot To Retrieve Tournament Style Events.  With these events a handler and the dog to be competitive have to be able to clear an upland field of birds in under two minutes, and that is usually 3 to 5 birds.  This includes locating, flushing, shooting, and retrieving.  You are scored on all of these areas.
The Hinchman's also are breeders of some very fine Boykins.  If you would like more
